New Milford Community Ambulance is currently looking for new members.

New Milford Community Ambulance is in the process of planning a second class to start within the next few months for EMT-Basic training. For more information or to advise us of your interest please contact (860)355-1769 and leave a message and we will get back to you at our earliest convenience.

All prospective members are asked to fill out our membership application. An application can be obtained by calling (860) 355-1769 and leaving your contact information. Please be sure to include the following when contacting us: your name, address, telephone number, an alternate telephone number and the best time to reach you. You may also Click Here to download a copy of our application to print out at home. Be sure and *mail* the completed application to the address indicated on the application. The application is in .PDF format you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view this file, if you don't have this program you can download it for free from Adobe's web site by clicking the button on the right.

**You must either be a resident of New Milford, or work in town and be at least 18 years of age to apply, see application for further rules and exceptions**

Membership Process

When you contact us, one of our officers will be in touch with you to give you more information about our organization. The officer will also make available to you, our application. The application consists of general information about yourself, a background screening conducted by the Conn ecticut State Police, and a physical exam to be completed by your physician.

I've submitted an application, now what?

Members of our screening committee will be in contact with you at their earliest convenience. This member of the committee will set up a time for you to come down and 'interview' with the committee, so that they can get an understanding of your goals and expectations from New Milford Ambulance. Once you have met with the screening committee, they will bring your application to vote at our next monthly meeting. At this time a member of the committee will introduce your name, your membership related information(name, age, location, certification level and background), and the committee's recommendation of the applicant. Once an application has been approved by the membership it is then presented to the board of directors. The board of directors receive all information the membership received in the previous months meeting and is also given the memberships decision on the applicant. At this time the board votes on the applicant. When an applicant passes the board of directors' vote, the applicant is then contacted by a member of the screening committee to let them know of the memberships decision.

I've been told I was accepted, what happens next?

One of our officers will call you to set up a time to come down for your orientation. At orientation you will meet with the chief, assistant chief, and training officer. During your orientation you will receive New Milford Ambulance's policy and procedure binder, turn out gear, a license plate accessory, and a complimentary New Milford Ambulance T-shirt. All policies, procedures and standards of operation will be explained to you, as well as giving you the chance to tour our facility.
